On Saturday 15th September, we were pleased to welcome the fall semester intake of new students into GIS. The afternoon started with the Entrance Ceremony, at which the President of Hosei University, Yuko Tanaka, gave a warm greeting. Following this ceremony the students were then given a faculty orientation led by our professors John Melvin, Diana Khor, Peter Evans and Shiaw Jia Eyo.
Finally, the students were given a chance to relax at a more informal session, where they had the chance to mix with the intake from other faculties at Hosei University. Everyone seemed to enjoy this chance to get to know each other immensely. We are sure that these students will settle into life at the university quickly and look forward to them becoming a part of our thriving GIS community.
