Congratulations on your graduation!

Dear GIS Graduates,

Congratulations on your graduation!

The countless readings, assignments, presentations, and discussions you have experienced at GIS are bearing fruit. You are graduating from GIS because we are confident that you have what it takes to building a better future. The diploma attests that you have acquired a critical ability to identify problems in everyday life, to put academic knowledge into practice, and to adopt an analytical perspective to arrive at solutions for the problem. It also attests that you have a deep understanding of diverse and different cultures and an excellent command of English to thrive in a globalizing world. Please take pride in what you have accomplished here and make full use of these skills to make the world a better place.

The class of 2021 will remain deep in my memory as the first cohort who graduated by overcoming the many adversities of the year 2020. If I could, I would have launched fireworks to celebrate the beginning of your new chapter in life. If I could, I would have congratulated you one by one for having studied hard at GIS. And if I could, I would have hugged you to thank you for enduring a very difficult last year. None of this is possible, but I am still optimistic that we will be able to get together again at the Homecoming event in the near future. Please remember that you will always be a precious member of our GIS community.

Congratulations again.
