The IGIS-GIS Homecoming Event – It’s Back!

The fall semester is picking up pace, there is a chill in the air on the way to campus and the autumn leaves are looking wonderful: it must be nearly time for the IGIS-GIS Homecoming Event!

Normally held every four years, our 2020 event was postponed because of you-know-what. However, we’re delighted to announce that we are definitely on for this year. For those of you who are not familiar with the event, it is a chance for our graduates to return to Hosei to reconnect with their old classmates and impress their professors with their experiences since graduating.

IGIS was established in 2006, becoming GIS in 2008. As our alumni have moved into various fields over the years, naturally, the number of our graduates playing an important role in workplaces all over the world is remarkable! Our students join us from a wide variety of backgrounds and it is always fascinating to see where our diverse body of graduates have ended up. We really enjoy hearing our students’ stories in a range of industries and feel pride at how their knowledge and skills acquired at IGIS and GIS has prepared them to successfully engage with today’s globalised world.

We have decided to hold this year’s event online, via Spatial Chat – a cutting edge platform – that provides a truly immersive experience. This will allow the growing IGIS and GIS community to keep together no matter where they are in the world. The Homecoming event enables our alumni to network for future career opportunities, as the young leaders of today help the new leaders of tomorrow!
