GIS presents at Fulbright event

Thank you very much to professors Niiya and Khezrnejat for giving a wonderful presentation about GIS to a group of administrators from the United States. Through the Fulbright Program, the group was touring Japanese universities to learn and share ideas about “globalizing” education.

For this purpose, Professor Niiya presented about GIS and Professor Khezrnejat introduced the Exchange Students from Overseas Program (ESOP) and the Global Education Center. Two students (one from GIS, one from ESOP) also participated to field questions from the group of visitors.

It was indeed a great opportunity to share our globalization efforts, trade ideas, and facilitate future collaboration. It was especially interesting and provocative to compare how the visions of “globalizing” education differ in the American and Japanese contexts.

We again greatly appreciate efforts by Professors Niiya and Khezrnejat and hope that this leads us to further collaboration with US universities.
