Through an analysis of the recent anime film Children of the Sea (Kaiju no Kodomo, 2019), GIS Professor Stevie Suan explores alternative ways to consider the performance of animation. In the process, he examines how these modes of performance could lead to ecologically constructive ways of conceptualizing ourselves and our relation to the environment.
