New students into GIS

Today we were pleased to welcome the fall semester intake of nine new students into GIS. The morning started with the Entrance Ceremony, at which the President of Hosei University, Yuko Tanaka, gave a warm greeting. Emi Yamazaki, a sophomore student from GIS, then gave a well-received welcome speech to the students about life within the department. Following this ceremony the nine students were then given a faculty orientation led by our Dean, Diana Khor, and professors Dan White and Shiaw Jia Eyo.

Finally, the students were given a chance to relax at a more informal lunch session, where they had the chance to mix with the intake from other faculties at Hosei University. Everyone seemed to enjoy this chance to get to know each other immensely. We are sure that these students will settle into life at the university quickly and look forward to them becoming a part of our thriving GIS community.
