GIS Open day 2017

The Faculty of Global and Interdisciplinary Studies (GIS) at Hosei University will hold an event on October 1, 2017 to introduce the department and examination systems, especially the upcoming December examination for Spring admission and January and May examinations for Fall admission.

GIS was established in 2008 to meet the growing need in Japan for an interdisciplinary education taught in English that would help prepare students to understand and address global issues and themes in politics, business, media, education and the humanities. In April 2016 we launched a new curriculum with an even wider variety of courses and a set of requirements to reinforce the sound liberal arts education we are committed to providing our students.

The October 1st GIS Open Day will consist of an Information Session and a short lecture. At the Information Session we will introduce GIS and explain what it offers in the way of its liberal arts, English immersion education as well as review in detail the Special Entrance Examination (自己推薦特別入試) in December for Spring admission, and the International and Domestic Examinations in early 2018 for Fall admission. Following the Information Session is a short, model lecture delivered by a GIS professor in Arts . Finally, an information desk for students taking university entrance exams will be set up to answer any individual questions or concerns. Current students will also be present to share their GIS experience.

Date and time: 1st October, 2017 (Sunday), 11:00-12:30
