GIS professor Stevie Suan was invited to give a lecture on his area of expertise, anime’s globalization, at the University of Carlos III de Madrid/Spain (UC3M), Department of Communication and Media Studies. His talk explores how a shift in focus from directors to animators reveals very different “actors” in anime’s production, as well a new regional geography for cultural production.
