Welcome to our new look website for 2016; as the Department of Global and Interdisciplinary Studies (GIS) continues to expand, we are now pleased to bring you a more comprehensive overview of our faculty. On this website you will be able to see regular information about admissions, scheduling and events in the department. In particular, we have expanded two main areas of content.

Firstly, there is now a more detailed look at the seminar courses in GIS, which our student eventually aim their focus towards. You can get a feel for the kind of teaching our professors offer and the areas of study they specialise in.

Also, there is a deeper look into all aspects of life at GIS through the eyes of our students, past and present. The “student voices” section aims to give an idea to prospective students about what their time at GIS and beyond could entail. This includes various aspects of our department, including our Overseas Academic Study (OAS) program, Hosei Year Abroad Scholarship Program (HYA) experiences and reflection on what our students learnt whilst at GIS.
